Steam C.V

Royle manufactures a wide variety of Steam Continuous Vulcanizing (CV) lines – small to large angle catenary and vertical configurations — that are uniquely designed to optimize the performance on the wires and cables that are defined by customers for their specific projects.

Steam is the ideal medium for curing all types of low voltage rubber wires and cables, because rubber materials cannot withstand high temperatures used in radiant heated nitrogen lines.  However, LV rubber cables do utilize the heat of vaporization of steam to reduce the curing time.  Condensation of steam that occurs as a result of curing the rubber flows down the curing pipe and provides a lubricating surface for the insulated or jacketed cable, so that the length of the catenary curing pipe can be shorter on steam CVs.

Insulating And Sheathing

Royle manufactures a wide variety of thermoplastic / thermosetting insulating and sheathing lines that use water in open troughs to cool or to cure the insulated or sheathed cable.  Each line is uniquely designed to optimize the performance on the wires and cables that are defined by customers for their specific projects.

Extruders

Royle manufactures extruder designs for all types of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials with different features to suit a wide range of applications. Each extruder is uniquely designed to optimize the performance on wire and cable, shapes, tubes, mold prep slabs, compounding, straining and other special applications that are defined by customers for their specific projects.

Fiberoptic Cable

Royle manufactures a range of lines for processing single mode and multi-mode fiber. Royle recommends that cable manufacturers buy uncolored fiber from known world-class suppliers. Royle produces lines to handle the conversion of uncolored fiber to the full range of indoor and outdoor fiber cable applications. Each line is uniquely designed to optimize the performance on the types of fiber optic cables that are defined by customers for their specific projects.

Autoline Controls

Royle products are designed to control our range of production lines and are marketed under the trade name autoLine.  The basis of the automation is a PLC that is programmed for each specific application to integrate every component – all drives, temperatures, pressures, etc – to function as a system and as required by the unique process.  The system provides full alarm functions for troubleshooting and full recipe functions for parameter setup and repeatability of process.  The autoLine system has an industrial computer with SCADA software and a large HMI color touchscreen with screens that are friendly to operators.  Key parameters and features of the system are locked and accessible only to the supervisor(s), who are responsible for the performance of the production line. The autoLine system is capable of linking to the Internet or the customer’s LAN system.
